Past events

  • TEAM Launch 03/01/07
In conjunction with the Sustainable Opportunities Summit, TEAM hosted an Energy Initiative Showcase on March 1, 2007. Companies were invited to join TEAM from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for a reception, a chance to meet the businesses who are TEAM's Founding Partners, and a preview of some cutting-edge energy research at CU-Boulder.

  • Business Roundtable 09/08/06
In September 2006, TEAM hosted a dozen companies at a roundtable discussion of the Energy Initiative. Participants from the corporate, investment and entrepreneurial sectors provided input and suggestions about how TEAM could most effectively link to business. Some of the core feedback from this event

    • Businesses want a better understanding of CU's energy research capabilities and their relevance.

    • They have business needs that could lead to research collaborations.

    • They want personalized engagement, with input relevant to their unique operations.

    • They see CU as the potential hub of an energy network.

    • They need help building the business case for renewable energy, sustainable energy, and energy efficiency.

Based on this feedback, TEAM began designing a business outreach program that includes a business/research network, educational opportunities, and ways to tap into CU energy research, interns, and other resources.

  • CU/NREL Energy Research Symposium 10/03/06
In October 2006, representatives from two dozen companies joined TEAM at CU's Energy Research Symposium. Participants reviewed TEAM activities to date, identified specific needs and potential collaborations, and visited the 173 posters presented by CU and NREL researchers at the Symposium. Some of the interests expressed by participants included:

    • Getting assistance to increase energy efficiency in buildings and industrial processes and assess ROI for potential energy-saving projects.

    • Learning more about CU's Colorado Power and Electronics research group activities.

    • Getting involved in a seed fund to advance promising new energy technologies with commercialization potential.

    • Collaborating on solar energy technology development.

    • Getting interns for energy-related projects.

TEAM is working with these companies on their individual needs, and is providing their feedback to researchers within the Energy Initiative to build collaborative business/research links.
