Transforming Energy and Markets

Entrepreneurship transforms the world by capturing the power of markets. It is the means by which innovative research can be deployed for public benefit. It fosters rapid technology transfer, adds value through market and feasibility assessment and creates successes through the identification and launching of business opportunities to facilitate the widespread use of renewable and sustainable energy alternatives.
Strong science and engineering programs are pillars of the University of Colorado-Boulder and are complemented by the following activities:
- The Leeds School of Business infuses an entrepreneurial mindset into the educational experience of its students. Our aim is to develop business leaders who can adapt to and lead change through knowledge of best business practices, and with excellent critical thinking and communication skills.
- The Deming Center for Entrepreneurship’s Sustainable Venturing Initiative matches innovative ideas and technologies with resources to make them come alive – including networks of leading entrepreneurs and advisors, established private sector businesses, and investors.
- The mission of the University of Colorado’s Technology Transfer Office (TTO) is to aggressively pursue, protect, package and license to business the intellectual property (IP) generated from research. TTO assists scientists and engineers in moving the results of their inventions derived from innovative research into the marketplace. TTO transfers IP through licenses which, when products are created from the IP, generates royalties that support inventor research, the inventor’s Campus and the CU System.
